Exciting News!

Although Hawley Schneider Photography has been quiet on social media lately, there has been a lot going on under the surface, and along with that comes some exciting news that I am overjoyed to share with you.

Here is a snapshot I took of Railroad Park just the other day when visiting the park with my kids. It's a beautiful blend of nature, the city we love so much, and a strong sense of community. The perfect place for Becca and I to open our studio, in the heart of the city.

This fall, Hawley Schneider Photography will open a joint studio with Becca Bell of 2b Photography, LLC across from the famous and beautiful Railroad Park in the Liv Parkside building. The studio will be adjacent to the new Red Cat and have views of the park. Becca and I are so thrilled to partner in this endeavor, to be better able to serve our amazing clients, and to celebrate the beauty of photography in the great city of Birmingham. Our projected studio opening will be in late fall, likely November. Stay tuned for more on that ;)

Meet Becca Bell. She is a talented and delightful wedding photographer in the B'ham area.

ALONG with that news, I am delighted to share that I have been working in secret on a lot of really fun, exciting projects for the Advent Magazine, a literary, arts, and theology magazine published by the Cathedral Church of the Advent. I've been fortunate enough to see some drafts of it and it really is a unique, beautiful, and interesting compilation of pieces. I am honored to have contributed, and would love to see you at the launch party for the magazine on Wednesday, September 9th at 7:00pm inside of the church building (not the sanctuary). It will certainly be a festive, fun, and celebratory event with free food, music and lots of local art to enjoy!

On top of all of this, I have really been missing writing - and so, one of my plethora of goals is to write more on this blog. Not only sharing compelling portraiture and images, but also personal thoughts and reflections, and whatever I really want to write about - in an engaging, visually enjoyable format. (I was honored to be featured recently on Lace and Loyalty's blog, writing about my love story. This was another reminder that I miss writing!)

Thank you all for your support and encouragement, your involvement and best of all, to everyone who honors me by allowing themselves to be in the frame. Here's to you!

Here is a sneak peek of one of the images I took of Jill Marlar's process as she creates Intaglio prints; specifically here, she is showing me how she created the cover artwork for the magazine. To see more of Jill's work or purchase, visit her Etsy shop here.
